High School players, this is a great way to give back to your community while building your college resume.

Looking for high school players who want to coach in the GK (formerly U-6) Program

We are looking for Andover High School soccer players to volunteer as assistant coaches for Andover Soccer Association’s GK (formerly U-6) program.

The GK program is the first soccer team experience for kids and can be the foundation for a lifetime of love for soccer. We want Andover’s high school players to share their energy, passion, and skills to help ignite the passion in our future players!

Our AHS players have the skills playing at the competitive high school level and also have the memories of playing for ASA when they were young. We believe that combination makes for a fantastic assistant coach. The players in the GK program will love having high school players as coaches, the parent coaches will love having high school players demonstrate proper soccer skills, and the high school players will absolutely love coaching the kids.

Being an assistant coach has many benefits

  • It’s a great way to give back to the community.
  • High school players can directly impact and encourage the next wave of ASA soccer players.
  • Volunteering will look great on those college applications.
  • The greatest benefit of all is the reaction they will get from the GK players! Just think back when you were playing U-6 soccer and what it would have meant to have a high school soccer player as one of your coaches. GK players will hang on your every word and will want to impress you with the soccer skills that you helped teach them.

Commitment as a GK assistant coach entails

  • Sundays for one hour. No mid-week practices.
  • You will be paired with at least 1 adult coach.
  • The season is 8 weeks with a goal of starting April 21 – June 16 (No game Memorial Day Weekend)
  • You will work with the same team the entire season.
  • You can choose between coaching a boys’ (1:00) or girls’ (3:00) team.

I hope you will consider signing up as coaches for this upcoming spring season. I promise it will be a better experience than you can imagine!

If you are interested, please email me donty5899@aol.com and let me know your name, email address that you check regularly, and the time slot you would like to coach in.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Thank you,

Scott D’Entremont
